This stunning architectural beauty sits on a spectacular elevated point just 10 steps above a quiet sandy bay and offering a breathtaking unobstructed 240-degree ocean view with lava boulders and crashing waves in the foreground. The house combines a balance of Mexican and Balinese architecture and design, providing soft, cool and relaxing color tones, authentic Mexican and Balinese furniture and accents, and an open-air design with the option to close rooms for privacy and security. The layout is perfect for entertaining, yet it’s grounded with several pockets to escape for privacy. The property slopes gently from the road to the front of the home where the beach side of the lot is twice the width of the back-lot line. As the walkway curves through the property, you will pass multi-colored crotons, ixora hedges, bird of paradise flowers, ginger plants, and an abundance of ferny foliage. A spur pathway to the right leads to a stand- alone air-conditioned gym. It includes a ballet bar, a full floor to ceiling mirrored wall, a state-of-the-art A/V system for music or DVD workouts and Internet. Back on the walkway, it’s a few more steps to a welcoming entrance with a grand Mexican antique door. While we’re not quite at the house proper yet, we have arrived at a set of charming and private guest bungalows, one on each side of the walkway. Each bungalow has an inviting covered patio in front, facing lush landscaping with lots of palms and foliage to enhance privacy and shade. Inside, each bungalow has two closets and a small refrigerator. Both bathrooms have nice deep sinks, spacious showers and high ceilings. The bungalow on the south side currently has two twin beds that form a king bed to accommodate various sleeping arrangements. The north side bungalow has a four-poster king sized bed. All five bedrooms, plus the gym, come equipped with ceiling fans and A/C. All have an inner set of screened sliders and an outer set of custom glassed French Doors. Accordingly, you can choose between open air living by leaving the outer glass doors open, or close them when you wish to use the A/C or lock the doors. A little further along the walkway and we come to the house entrance - the main event – which will welcome you with a cascading waterfall wall and a spectacular view straight through to the infinity pool and beyond to the ocean. There are rooms on the north, east and south sides of the main house with a huge great room in the center situated two steps lower than the surrounding level. A parota wood walkway encompasses the three sides of the “sunken” living and dining room areas that occupy the great room. The first room on the right (north side) is a bedroom with a Queen sized bed, generous closets and an ensuite bathroom finished in the same style and calming tones as those in the bungalows. The next room on the right is an office complete with Internet, custom cabinetry and two work stations. Between the two rooms, a hallway leads to a laundry room on the north side of the home. There is a full-sized stacked washer and dryer plus lots of shelves for towels and household supplies. The to-die-for huge gourmet kitchen anchors the house along the back of the home and boasts a full ocean view. The front of the air-conditioned kitchen is a full wall of retractable glass sliding doors that can be closed off to provide an air- conditioned cooking environment or left fully open. Either way, you are enjoying westward views of the main living area and infinity pool. Three large double windows at the back of the kitchen draw in views of the verdant surroundings. There is an abundance of counter space plus storage space in the many kitchen cabinets and drawers. All appliances are high-end GE Monogram: the 6-propane burner stove top and grill, double ovens, built-in fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Central to the kitchen is an expansive island with comfortable seating for four. There is also a large walk-in pantry. Outside the kitchen to the left is a powder room with beautiful fishes and a large storage room. Moving forward on the left (south) side of the dining/living area the next stop is the entertainment room that boasts an illuminated dome shaped ceiling done in a herring bone brick pattern – a true piece of art. The room has a big flat screen TV and Internet, safeguarded by custom cabinetry, a seating area, Brunswick pool table/ping pong table, and a bar station plus many cabinets and drawers for supplies, games and storage. The furthest front room on the left is a master suite with a king sized bed to go along with the king sized view out over the infinity pool to the breaking waves and the glory of the Pacific Ocean. The ensuite bathroom has a large vanity, two sinks, a closet, shelves, drawers and plenty of storage space. The piece de resistance is the private outdoor shower with a full view of the ocean and crashing waves. On the opposite side of the living/dining area is a second master suite with a king size bed sharing the same incredible views. This suite leads into a hall that first passes a wonderful walk-in closet and then a master bathroom with large vanity, two sinks and a built-in bath tub and another luxurious outdoor shower. Both Master suites have front and side French door access with the ability to enjoy open air breezes with screen sliders or French glass doors, and both have floor to ceiling glass corner windows that allow you to enjoy 270-degree views. Behind each of the master suites are fully lit staircases to rooftop terraces. On the south side, there is a four-poster king sized day bed with shade canopy and curtain surround. The terrace on the north side is the perfect cocktail lounge with built-in sectional seating, a big copper coffee table and a few free standing chairs. Of course, the very best views are from up on the terraces. Both terraces offer spectacular 270-degree views - to the north, one can see all the way to Troncones Point that is basically the southern point of Manzanillo Bay. A huge palapa roof soars above the dining/living areas at the center, and focal point, of the house. The dining area offers seating for twelve with a huge center pedestal tree root and glass dining table. Closer to the front of the house is the elegant, yet casual living room with a custom sofa and freestanding chairs. This space provides perfect shelter from the sun but all the views and charm of being outdoors. Out front sits the lounging area, infinity pool and Jacuzzi. This is where one realizes how perfectly situated this property sits just above the beach below. While only 10 steps to the beach, the height adds to the views and the privacy of the home. It’s a perfect perch for spotting dolphins, diving pelicans and breaching humpback whales. And of course, it’s the best place to be at sunset. There are both pedestrian and vehicle entrances to the property from the road. Inside the custom wood gates, there is private parking for two vehicles and a spacious one-car garage. This spectacular 5-year old home is nestled at the southern edge of Troncones. It’s quieter here, and more private, yet it remains only a minute away from the restaurants, stores and other attractions of Troncones. The property covers 1,270 square meters and enjoys 30 meters of beachfront. The total dwelling space is approximately 690 square meters. Everything about this property; its design, construction, décor and position on the beach provides luxury, elegance and is of the highest quality. The result is absolutely gorgeous!
