This beautiful beachfront home was designed by owners who loved to host their extended family and entertain their friends. The construction consists of a main house and two large bungalows. There are five bedrooms, four baths and an additional two outdoor showers. Altogether the home can sleep 15 or 16 people. Though the owners never rented, this home would make an excellent rental property. In Troncones one can generally count on 100 nights of rentals during the November to May high season. A fair rental rate for this home would be in the neighborhood of $700 a night. On the street side there is a pedestrian door and a separate vehicle entry via a wood gate with automatic doors. The driveway runs between the bungalows and through an open ended palapa-covered carport to the house. There is off-street parking space for 4 or 5 cars. The bungalows, both the same size, are spacious enough to comfortably house two matrimonial beds and one single, plus chests of drawers, armoires and other furniture. The bathrooms are large with plenty of counter space and there are ample closets, shelves and under counter cabinets. Outside the south bungalow’s louvered doors is a huge kitchen, dining and conversation area. The enormous tiled kitchen island includes a double sink, lots of workspace and a bar area with several bar stools. There are also a dining table, chairs and other seating options. The open-air area of the north side bungalow is similar in size but does not include a kitchen. Accordingly there is plenty of room for furniture. Off the north side is a laundry room. Soaring palapa roofs cover both bungalows. The bungalows are two steps up from ground level and both have railed concrete ramps in addition to steps. There is patio space in front of both bungalows and room for hammocks, lounge chairs etc. The main house has two stories. As you walk into the heart of the home you’ll see the pool out front, the beach and ocean. After you pass the stairway to the second story there is a dining area on your right with a dining table and chairs for 8 people. On your left is a small mostly open room with a desk, cabinets and a gigantic hutch. A step or two more and there is the chef’s kitchen with a wealth of workspace: a butcher-block island, a 3 meter counter on one side and 2.5 meter counters on either side of the deep double sink on the other. There is a refrigerator, stove, built-in drawers and cupboards galore, plus a large walk-in pantry. To the right is a living/conversation area with built-in couches and freestanding furniture around a coffee table. A wide covered patio runs along the beach side of the house. In front of the kitchen is a second dining area that currently has a table and chairs for six people plus a parota wood bar and tall bar stools. There is also a guest bedroom with a king bed on this level on the north side of the house. It has louvered windows and doors and faces the pool and beach beyond. A wide hallway with a large closet and armoire leads to the big downstairs bathroom. This is also accessible from the main part of the house via a different door. The covered patio area in front of the guest bedroom has plenty of room for a hammock, lounge chairs or even another dining table and chairs. On the second floor, at the top of the stairs, is a carved wooden door that opens to a large private living room. This area is covered by a tile roof but otherwise is open to the breeze on three sides. There is a spacious seating area, a table and chairs, and an entertainment center. A door leads to the master bedroom where you’ll find a king bed situated to enjoy a view of the ocean. This is another airy and spacious room with large chests of drawers and room for a handy half fridge. The master bathroom has a 3 meter long tiled counter and sink with a skylight above providing lots of natural light. There is a large shower and a jetted red bathtub. A huge closet runs along one wall and there is ample cupboard space below the long counter. The room was designed with plenty of airflow. The second upstairs bedroom currently has a matrimonial bed, a secretary desk, closet space and views of the ocean. The pool out front is lined with beautiful cobalt blue tiles. On the west side of it is another spacious area for hammocks and chaise lounges. At the beach side edge of the property is a sitting area covered with a tile roof. This is a favorite spot for whale watching and is the best spot for enjoying Troncones sunsets. This property has many places to be alone even when there is a houseful of people. The same can be said of places to sit and chat over glasses of ice tea or cold beer. Over the years the owners have collected a variety of local artwork that adorns many of the walls. The wooden furniture and carved wood accents come from the region around Patzcuaro. The talavera tile accents in the kitchens and bathrooms also reflect the owners’ deep appreciation of Mexico, their second home for many years. The mature landscaping includes plants and shrubs chosen for the their flowers or their foliage, plus a variety of trees and palms. The home is being offered fully furnished. The property is situated about 1.5 kilometers north of the Troncones T. Offered at: $599,000. USD
